Overview

Low loss high reliability optical switches available with 4, 8. 16, 32, 64 or 128 ports.

Each switch has hardware address set using DIP switches allowing multiple switches to be daisy chained expanding the port count to1024 or more*.

Extensive life testing has shown that these switches can perform more than 100 million operations without significant degeneration of the optical path.

UTEL switches use a patented module to provide test access to Live fibres. Modules are available with WDM's or splitters as required. These can be "mix and matched" allowing different types of networks to accessed from one switch.

Dark fibres can be tested directly from the switch output port.

Used with the UTEL OTDR these switches support PON and Long line testing on a single switch.

(*Limitations on switch sizes will depend on acceptable losses and access times required.)
